How it all began

I have a godchild for 6 years who comes Mtwapa near Mombasa. Mtwapa is a city in Kilifi Country in Kenya. The city is about 20 km away from Mombasa and has over 90.000 inhabitans.

Meshack is 10 years old now and very brillant. We pay the school fees for him, the uniform, the transport to school and presents for birthday and Christmas. He changed the school and attends the Elite academy primary school. I have contact with his mother per WhatsApp.

I was curious about him and his family. So I booked a flight to Kenya last year in January and visited him and the school. Now his mother is a good friend of mine. I met a lot of well-disposed and warm-hearted Kenyan people.

I saw al lot of powerty, very poor families and villages. I fell in love with this country with beautiful vegetation, landscape, animals, very friendly people and decided to come back and to do more and provide education to children from poor families.

In Kenya children can go to school if they have attended preschool for 1-2 years. The preschool ist private, non-governmental. That means the families have to pay for education.

In January this year I founded an Association for helping and support Kenyan children to go to school who live in poor living conditions.

On my last trip to Kenya I visited a preschool in Mtwapa village. This preschool accommodate over 130 children from 2 until 8 years. The kids can go to school if the families pay the fees. The head teacher built the school (with wood, no stones) on the plot of her deceased mother.

The school system is in terms of 3 months, then a break for 1 month.

The head teacher told me that the main problem is the fresh water supply. The school have to pay for drinking water which is delivered and very expensive.

I promised to help. The idea is to build a well. They need to drill a well plus the water pump, a pipe and building blocks for the tank stand and the tank.

Duration for drilling is only 2 weeks then they get the fresh water.

It would be great if we found sponsors for this Kenyan project or for a sponsorship. That means a one-time donation or monthly for school fees ca. 25 Euro.

Thank you so much for help!
